Cairns Dive Centre visit Moore, Milln, Briggs, Elford and Thetford Reefs. You will be transferred out to the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer on their fast boat MV SunKist. This takes around 90 minutes to the Outer Reef, followed by a short transfer to the Kangaroo Explorer for the remainder of the trip.
The 3 day 2 night cruise includes 10 dives, two of which are night dives. Cairns Dive Centre visit three dive-snorkel sites on the above reefs each day, where visibility can range from 10 metres to 30 metres throughout the year. The fine, sandy, sloping bottom tapers off gradually from 10 to 28 metres making the diving very easy and you are not likely to encounter any other boat traffic on most of the Outer Reef locations.
The dive/snorkel sites offer a vast array of hard and soft corals, great drop offs, swim throughs and gutters, with a wide variety and assortment of shrimp, fish, crab, brittlestars, featherstars and sea cucumbers. The fish life is extremely colourful and varied and includes wrasse, surgeon, parrot, damsel and butterfuly and angel fish.
The Kangaroo Explorer has double, twin and quad share cabins which are fully air-conditioned and all have their own ensuite bathroom. There is a large sundeck, saloon bar and library. Meals are prepared by the onboard Chef and vegetarians are well catered for.
You have the option of staying one, two or three nights.
