- Lizard Island is the most northerly resort on the Barrier Reef, lying 240 km's north of Cairns. The island is 27 kms east of mainland Australia it is an unspoilt 1000 hectares of national park and caters for a maximum of seventy guests with no plans for expansion in the immediate future.
